Year 7 Religious Studies

Year 7 Religious Studies

Year 7 Religious Studies helps students aged 11 to 12 start secondary RE by learning to study religion well: fairly, carefully and with respect. It looks at belief in Britain using the 2021 Census, then explores the sacred texts, history and British communities of Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Sikhism and Buddhism, from the Bible, the Qur'an and the Tenakh to the Guru Granth Sahib and Guru Nanak's journeys. It finishes with sacred spaces, symbols and sacred art, and food and faith. Each unit opens with a painted scene, followed by clear explanations, key words, an activity and questions, with answers and a word list at the back. It never tells students what to believe.
