Secondary French

Secondary French

Secondary French is a clear, friendly textbook for students aged 11 to 14 (Key Stage 3, Years 7–9). It covers the national curriculum for modern foreign languages in England, building listening, speaking, reading and writing step by step. Students learn to talk about themselves, their family, pets, birthdays and school, then move on to free time, the weather and seasons, food and drink, shopping at the café and the market, their town and weekend plans, and read a short poem by Paul Verlaine. In the final part they describe holidays and a day out using the perfect tense, and talk about their daily routine, health, technology and social media, the French-speaking world and their future. Every unit has dialogues, clear grammar boxes on genders, agreement, verbs and tenses, tips on French sounds and spelling, culture notes, and practice questions with full answers. Verb tables, classroom French and a French–English glossary make it a supportive companion for class, homework and revision.
