Starter Grammar
A first grammar book for children aged 5 to 8 (Key Stage 1, Years 1 and 2). One clear topic per unit: words and sentences, capital letters, full stops, question marks and exclamation marks, capital letters for names, nouns, verbs and adjectives, word groups, joining with and, the four kinds of sentence, present and past tense, is, are, was and were, commas in lists, plurals with -s and -es, adding -ing, -ed, -er and -est, the prefix un-, compound words and apostrophes for missing letters. Follows the national curriculum for English in England. Every unit has a worked example and practice questions, with answers, a glossary and an end-of-book check.
