1. About these terms
This website, easylifeuk.co.uk, is run by EasyLife UK (easylifeuk.co.uk) (“we”, “us”). By using the site, you agree to these terms. Please also read our privacy notice. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
The site is free. It helps people who are new to the UK find information, places, learning tools and community help.
2. General information only – not professional advice
- The site gives general information only. It is not legal, medical or immigration advice.
- For your own situation, speak to a qualified adviser. For immigration advice, use an adviser regulated by the Immigration Advice Authority (IAA, formerly OISC) or a solicitor. For health, speak to a doctor, pharmacist or NHS 111.
- Nothing on EasyLife UK is legal, medical or financial advice, and using the site (or donating to it) does not make us your adviser. Only a regulated immigration adviser (Immigration Advice Authority) or a solicitor can advise on your own immigration case. For money or housing problems, contact Citizens Advice; for health, NHS 111, your GP or a pharmacist.
- We are not part of the Home Office or the government.
- We try to keep information correct and up to date, but rules, addresses and opening times change. Please check important information with the official source (for example GOV.UK) before you act on it.
- Translations, search results and read-aloud audio may be made with computer tools and can contain mistakes. If in doubt, check the English or ask someone you trust.
3. Your account
- Give a real email address, and keep your password private. Do not share your account.
- You are responsible for what is done with your account.
- Children under 13 should only use an account with a parent or guardian.
- You can delete your account at any time in “My account”.
4. Using the site properly
You must not:
- break the law, or use the site to cheat, scam or harm anyone;
- post anything hateful, threatening, sexual, violent, or that bullies or discriminates against anyone;
- post other people’s personal details (names, phone numbers, addresses, photos) without their permission;
- pretend to be someone else, or post false information on purpose;
- send spam, adverts, or links to other websites;
- try to hack, overload or get around the site’s safety checks, or collect information about other users;
- misuse the 999, Alert family or other safety features (for example, for jokes).
5. Giveaways and other posts
- Giveaways are for giving away free items only. Do not ask for or offer money, and do not sell anything.
- Only post things that are yours to give, that are safe, and that are legal. Do not post weapons, drugs, alcohol, tobacco, medicines, stolen goods, counterfeit items, animals, or anything dangerous or recalled.
- Describe items honestly. Photos must be of the item only – no people, faces or personal documents.
- Do not put links, phone numbers or home addresses in posts. Our automatic filter blocks these and harmful words.
- We may check, refuse, hide or remove any post, and limit or close accounts that break these rules, without warning.
- You keep ownership of what you post, but you allow us to show it on the site and to translate it.
- Meet safely. Meet in a public place during the day, bring someone with you if you can, and never share bank details, passwords or your BRP / eVisa or Home Office documents.
- Any arrangement is between the giver and the receiver. We are not part of it and cannot guarantee any item or any person.
- The same rules apply to the family board, buddy sign-ups and anything else you send us.
To report a post or a person, use our Contact us form and choose “Complaint”. If anyone is in danger, call 999.
6. Safety features
- The 999 button helps your phone call 999. It needs a working phone and signal. It is not a replacement for calling 999 yourself.
- The Alert family and I’m OK buttons open your own messages app with a ready text. Messages are sent by your phone company and you must press Send. Location may be wrong or missing. We cannot promise that a message will be sent, delivered or read.
- Do not rely only on this website to stay safe.
7. Other websites
- We link to other websites, such as GOV.UK, charities and Google Maps. We do not control them and are not responsible for them.
- Organisations shown as endorsements have said they support the site. This does not mean we endorse everything they do, or that they are responsible for the site.
8. Our content
You may use the site’s content for your own personal, non-commercial use. Please do not copy large parts of it for other websites or products without asking us. Some pictures and icons belong to others and are used under their licences (see the credits on those pages).

9. Our responsibility to you
- The site is provided free and “as it is”. We do our best, but we cannot promise it will always be available, correct or free from errors.
- We are not responsible for any loss caused by relying on general information on the site, by other websites, or by people you meet through the site.
- We are not responsible for losses we could not reasonably have expected, or for business losses.
- Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility where the law does not allow it, for example for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.
10. Ending your use and changes
You can stop using the site and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. We may change these terms or the site. We will change the date at the top, and tell you on the site if a change is important.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
