Cookie policy

Last updated: 28 October 2026

This page explains the cookies used on easylifeuk.co.uk, run by EasyLife UK. It is part of our privacy notice.

Cookies we use

A cookie is a small file saved by your browser. We use only essential cookies. These are needed for the site to work, so they are always on:

NameWhat it doesHow long
rh_userKeeps you signed in.30 days, or until you log out
rh_gpkceKeeps “Continue with Google” sign-in secure.10 minutes
rh_adminSigns in our own staff to the admin area. Not used for visitors.12 hours
el_admin_2faStaff only: holds a half-finished admin sign-in while the second security step (code) is checked. Only sent to the admin area. Not used for visitors.15 minutes
el_admin_devStaff only: remembers a trusted staff device so the admin security code is not asked every time. Only sent to the admin area. Not used for visitors.30 days, or until removed

We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.

Anonymous visit counter. To know which pages help people, our own server counts page views. For each page view it saves only: the page (for example “housing”), the date and time, the language the site is shown in, and whether it is a phone, tablet or computer. It does not use cookies or save anything on your device, does not store your IP address or any ID, cannot tell who you are, and uses no other company. If your browser sends “Do Not Track” or “Global Privacy Control”, nothing is counted. We only look at totals.

Optional: Google maps. Some pages can show a Google map inside the page. When it loads, Google may set its own cookies and receive your IP address. We only load these maps if you press Accept in the cookie message, or tap “Show map” yourself. If you press Reject non-essential, you can still use the “Open in Google Maps” button and our other maps (OpenStreetMap), which do not set cookies.

You can change your choice at any time: Cookie settings.

The first time you visit, we show a cookie message. Until you choose, only essential cookies are used. Accept allows the optional Google maps; Reject non-essential keeps essential cookies only. Your choice is saved on your device (local storage key el_cookies) so we do not ask again, and you can change it at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.

Payments

If you choose to donate, the payment page is run by Stripe on its own website. Stripe may set its own essential cookies for fraud prevention and security. See Stripe’s cookie notice.

Controlling or deleting cookies in your browser

You can see, block or delete cookies in your browser settings. This is general information; the exact words can change between browser versions.

If you block essential cookies, signing in will not work. Clearing this site’s data also clears your cookie choice (el_cookies) and other settings saved on your device, so the cookie message will show again on your next visit.
