Everyday Grammar

Everyday Grammar

A grammar book for adults and young people aged 16+ who speak English as a second language, at about B1 to B2 level. One clear topic per unit: a, an, the and no article; countable and uncountable nouns and quantifiers; prepositions of time, place and movement; everyday phrasal verbs; word order, questions, negatives, short answers, question tags and reported speech; the -s ending, future forms, used to and nearly seventy common irregular verbs; verb + -ing or to, conditionals, polite requests and obligation; make, do, have and take; polite phrases; emails, forms and phone calls; and the mistakes and false friends that learners most often make. Every unit has explanations, worked examples and practice with answers, and the book ends with a check and a glossary.
